first: no kidding. lifetimes ago, I was just a kid, I wondered how anybody could think this whole idea that the economy was only flourishing when it was expanding was a good thing. What happens when there’s no place left to expand? What happens when we run out? I stopped trying to ask.

second: Isn’t it the case that now we just stink less…wash more? have more work to do with all our gadgets?

seventh: I fantasize about having someone work a garden in my little yard. there’s some guys in Portland that started a csa doing just that…growing stuff in other people’s yards, sharing the food, and selling the rest. or just having landscaping that is also edible, like kale, chard, and herbs.
