first: no kidding. lifetimes ago, I was just a kid, I wondered how anybody could think this whole idea that the economy was only flourishing when it was expanding was a good thing.  What happens when there&#039;s no place left to expand? What happens when we run out? I stopped trying to ask.  

second: Isn&#039;t it the case that now we just stink less...wash more? have more work to do with all our gadgets?

third: have you seen the book &quot;Thought to Exist in the Wild&quot;?

seventh: I fantasize about having someone work a garden in my little yard. there&#039;s some guys in Portland that started a csa doing just that...growing stuff in other people&#039;s yards, sharing the food, and selling the rest.  or just having landscaping that is also edible, like kale, chard, and herbs.
