oh hai

Well, it was a wild and raucous end to the summer, followed by a long weekend of blessed rest, but I’m back. Did you miss me?

It’s been a good chance to think about how this blog is going. My basic intention was “piracy, space and post-soviet conflicts,” and I’m pleased to see that my four biggest tags are georgia, pirates, space and kosovo. “Treehugging, mayhem and high weirdness” are lagging a bit, but I’m making more of an effort on the enviro stuff, and there’s no shortage of mayhem and weirdness in the world.

I’ll probably scale back a bit on the headlines and be a little more focused. This has been taking a lot of my day, and I really want to work on some other stuff too. I still plan to hit the news every day, more or less, but maybe fewer stories. We’ll see.

In the next few days, you can expect a Georgia wrap-up, and next week maybe a look at some other post-soviet troubles we may be hearing more about.

Beyond that, I hope to start with the occasional book review- I’ve got some swords and sorcery lined up for you, and Camden Benares’s “Handful of Zen.” Beyond that, maybe some work on design, and I might even deign to mention the presidential campaign on occasion.

Let me know in the comments what you like, what you want more of and what you want less.

Also, hi. Thanks for reading.

Hey man, welcome back. This site rules, love the focus and looking forward to a few book reviews. The ‘rites of dysnomia’ is pretty hilarious. Maybe a cool videy on sword swinging or something to link up to your other pages. Peace!
